In an effort to meet more bloggers I am participating in two Friday hops this week.
The first is the Feature Follow hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. On Fridays they both host a Linky and feature a blog, chosen at random from past participants. Current participants are required to visit and follow the featured blog. There is also a topic for a short post. This week’s question, suggested by Eternity Through Pages is Have you ever been inspired by a book character to do something? Who was the character and what was it?
Oh, yeah! I did many things that different book characters did, but the one I still do has to do with cleaning. Pippi Longstocking mopped her floors by attaching big sponges to her feet and skating around the floors where she had dumped tons of soapy water. There was even an illustration. If I have a mess or spill, I use old dish towels and rub them all over the place with my feet. To me this makes sense, but my mom still gets down with a sponge and had a fit when she saw me cleaning up some coffee this way she had a fit.
The second activity is the Book Blogger Hop with the Coffee Addicted Writer. The topic here is Do you read more on a rainy day or on a gorgeous day so you can be outside?
On rainy days I always think I'm going to read more, but I end up watching movies and napping. On nice days I sit outside for most of the day and read, so I read a lot more in the warmer months. I enjoy reading outside so much that I was going to put out my area rug and chair this weekend, but now they say we might get more snow. If it's not too cold, say in the 50s, I'll bundle up and sit outside and read. In the summer I could float on the pontoon boat and read all day if I was allowed to by my family.
These were two fun topics this week. Take some time to visit a few people and see their responses. And don't forget Bloggiesta starts Monday and runs all next week. It's a great way to get ideas to improve content and skills to improve layout on your blog. Check it out, you can still sign up!

I used love watching Pippi Longstocking the show when I was a kid but never read the books. I didn't even know there were books! Hahaha I can only imagine your mother's face when you did that!

Here's my Follow Friday!
I've done it your way, as well as your mother's way, and mopping up a mess with a towel and your feet is a much better way. A lot less pain afterwards.

I've always wanted to shine a large ballroom floor by skating around with dusters on my feet! Nothing to do with Pippi, I'm just bonkers!

I like to sit outside and read too, but I can't sit and read all day. I can't sit still for very long! I always think of things I need to do so I get up and do them and go back to my book. I have to be careful in the summer because mosquitoes just love me.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love your inspiration from reading! :D
