Face Painting

Welcome to Pink Saturday, hosted by Beverly @ How Sweet the Sound. It's amazing to see all of the different pink things that are out there when you just start looking.
Before my post, I want to let everyone know that all pink items in my etsy shop are 25% off. Refund will be given through PayPal, and pink Awareness bracelets marked down 1/3. October 9-17 all Halloween merchandise is 25% off.
I've been asked to do a face painting booth at my niece's Columbus Day soccer tournament. I didn't want to just do bunny faces, swirls, and flowers, so I was looking for ideas online. I came across an amazing site from the United Kingdom called About Face, where an artist posts her face paintings. She enters contests, does body art, and teaches classes. I got some great ideas that I could actually do myself from other sites, but I wanted to share some of this true artistry with my Pink Saturday friends. I love the metallic pink of this spider girl!Possibly, I could do flowers like this, but the subtle shadings? Forget it. Jewels? Kids will just pick them off.
Forget skills, there wouldn't be enough time to create something this intricate. I wonder how she got the little girl to sit still for it?
For more fun pinks, check out Beverly and the other participants at How Sweet the Sound. And don't forget my specials at Little Somethings.

  3. Elizabeth, those are just amazing shots! I am always awed by artistry like that, and to think it will be washed off! Thank goodness for cameras, right?

I bet you come up with something fun for your niece's group. Somewhere in the dim recesses of my mind, I remember helping face paint for a children's event held at an historic theatre. If I, who cannot draw a straight line, can do it, I know you can! :-)

I almost didn't recognize your blog because you changed your picture! I had to look twice, but I knew it was you behind the shades. Looks like you were having a fun time.

Hope you are doing well and that you are having a very Happy Pink Saturday!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  5. That's what I always wonder, how to get a child to sit that long and not smear their face.
The last one is adorable , the lips would be enough, all on their own.

  13. Called over from SITS to say a big Hi to everyone!
Here in the U.K. face painting is a big thing, and some of the kids look so cute! I was going to buy a book on doing it myself. but I would have to experiment on myself first to see if I could ever look that cute!

  18. Lovely Pink Saturday post and sweet blog, too. Woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground so even thought this isn't Saturday I really needed a boost! Today you made me smile...

Sorry, I didn't get to see everyone yesterday. I had important business. My 11 year-old grandson was playing football and he wanted Mimi to go to the out-of-town-last-of-the-season-game. THEY WON AGAINST AN UNDEFEATED TEAM! WOO-HOO! 35 - 17☺

Hope the coming week blesses you with sunshine, happiness and good friends.

  19. Nice to see them! I got corralled on the spot to face paint kids at a fair once. Although the little ones were happy with what I did, wish I'd seen yours first for training!
BTW, I am an XNTX and my dh is an ENTP.

i have shut off the CAPCHA, so if you are asked to type a word or number, please let me know. It is very annoying and slows down comments.
