For this week's Vintage Thingies Thursday I have some more of my mother's 1950s/60s jewelry to share. I thought I'd go with leaves, since they have all fallen off the trees around here! For whatever reason, both of these pairs of earrings seem to go with this pin. Since they are all made by BSK that would make sense.I like the way both enamel and bumpy metal was used on this BSK pin.Of course we need a maple leaf in the autumn. This one has no manufacturer's mark.

Very nice vintage jewelry. I have always worn vinatge jewelry and have collected quite few pieces. These leaves would look great on a hat or lapel for as updated look.
ReplyDeleteLovely vintage jewelry

Oh Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning sweetie.
I so love this enameled pin. It is exquisite. How beautiful that must look on.
The maple leaf I am also taken by. So detailed in the veins of the leaf. It appears to be tri-colored or maybe has two colors to it? Beautiful tho. Just beautiful.
The BSK trio I think you could wear as a trio. How beautiful they are. I even love my pins attached to some of my purses for a little bling. I have even seen some women that are wrapping a scarf around their wrist and attaching a little pin their for Fall.
Thanks for sharing these. They are just beautiful, and ofcourse belonging to your Moma makes them that much more special.
Please stop by and say hi. I would like to share my story today, coincidentally my Moma is in it.
Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
Do you ever wear any of these? Or does your mom still have them?
ReplyDeleteJustine :o )
I think you have a good start on a leaf pin collection.
ReplyDeleteYes, a leaf pin collection would be fabulous!!! I can imagine it displayed on a piece of velvet stretched across a space on the wall . . ..
ReplyDeleteThe half-green one is particularly wonderful!
Leaves I think are the prettiest shape for jewelry and pins. I have a couple that aren't very old but you do a great start to a very nice collection. Good VTT.
ReplyDeleteLove the enamel. It adds a nice pop of color.
ReplyDeleteThose pins and earrings are gorgeous! My Mom has worn leaf pins for as long as I can remember. I guess she is drawn to them! I'll have to take a look at some of them and see if any are marked BSK!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
Carol
How beautiful! I didn't think of photographing my leaf pins...what a great idea. I love to wear about 5 of them, scattered all over my turtleneck and sweaters. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the way you grouped your jewellery in a theme and I'm definitely going to dig out some of what I've inherited from my Italian mother-in-law.
ReplyDeletehappy Vintage Thursday.

Ah! Look at the maple leaf...it's so pretty. It looks like something my Aunt Violet would have worn, pinned on a scarf.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty.
Wonderful vintage pins...my mom used to have a lot of pins, but who knows what happened to them. I remember being fascinated looking into her jewelry box as a kid. Have a great VTT!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, I am sorry I haven't been by to visit. I was in Fl. 10 days and then besides the new puppy I have a terrible cold. All I want to do is sleep and the puppy is not letting that happen. She is so cute and active. She is into everything. I have some time right now because she is sleeping...on my feet. She is three pounds of energy. She figured out how to jump on the couch. She kept trying and when she didn't succeed she would back up for more speed. She did this at least six times and now she gets up there every time. Our couch is tall and big for such a tiny thing. Then she decided to get to me from the couch to the recliner. She ran across the end table from the couch and jumped on me. We have laughed ourselves silly. Dogs are the best, you are right.
ReplyDeleteI love those vintage leaf pins. I just like the look of nature in jewelry. They are beautiful and a treasure to have. Your mom has good taste in jewelry and it is neat that they are from the 50's and 60's.
I hope you are feeling well Elizabeth.
Hugs xoxo, Jeanne
I have lots of vintage jewelry too and leaves do seem to be my favorite. I also like making copper fold formed leaves and then using a torch to get really interesting colors.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely jewelery. I have some of my Mom's too. I'll have to dig it out to show one day.
