Happy Vintage Thingies Thursday: Halloween Edition! I have images from some vintage postcards that I find particularly creepy. Two are cards I own and the others I found online with an offer to use them for personal crafting, so I am passing on that opportunity to you. Click on the picture to enlarge and right click to save. This Victorian woman is dragging some kind of a grid, which is tempting to the wacky pumpkin-head guy. Does anyone know what it is?Another one of the pumpkin-head guys that totally creep me out.Not just jack-o-lanterns, but all sorts of veggies celebrating the season. Bizarro! Here there are some strange ghoulish faces in the background, but the creepy part is the poem at the bottom.
Hope you're all geared up for the haunted month of October. Don't forget to visit Suzanne @ ColoradoLady for all the great Vintage Thingies Thursday posts.

ReplyDeleteGreat Halloween postcards! They're spooktacular! I've been wanting to start collecting these, but they're always too expensive. My favorite is the veggie one. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
A lot of people are into card collecting. You have found some really neat ones for Halloween. Thanks for visiting my place today.
ReplyDeleteCreepy is a good description. Eerie would be another!
ReplyDeleteHow do you put jump rings on a ball chain necklace?????
ReplyDeleteHalloween postcards are too expensive for me. I collected a lot of Thanksgiving postcards because they are much cheaper and I was born on Thanksgiving.

ReplyDeleteThe first one is so cool! I worried about that grate she's dragging too. What is that thing?
ReplyDeleteI think the "grate thing" she's dragging is a pumpkin-head man TRAP.
ReplyDelete:-)
I agree...creepy! But isn't that what Halloween is all about? I think I'll stick to my old Christmas postcards. :)

Oh Elizabeth! I love 'em. That woman could be dragging a giant Triscuit but my first thought was she wouldn't let go of Pumkinhead's Eggo!!
ReplyDeleteHello Elizabeth. I'm glad you enjoyed the salt cellar collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit.
I love your pumpkin head post cards. even the borrowed images. At one time I sold vintage post cards and now I wish I had kept some of the most interesting ones. Halloween ones for sure. Such is life. I agree, the last one is kind of funky. Exactly what did that mean? Who would want to be a pumpkin head? LOL. Thanks for the smiles.
Hugs, Jeanne
