Vintage Summer Thingies

Most of the items I share for Vintage Thingies Thursday come from my father and his bottomless basement, as you know. But a few things have been my mother's, specifically the jewelry and fashion items. This week I am sharing some of her more summery contributions to my vintage treasure box.
Mom has many hats from the 1960s, but this is the most summery, with the daisies all over it.
I love the texture of this starfish pin. It's two-toned metal is a nice touch.
I'm not a strawberry fan for eating, but I absolutely love this pin! It's only missing a few stones, which isn't noticeable when it's being worn.
And here's the vintage fashion plate herself, circa 1962, the year she and my dad were engaged!
I hope you enjoyed seeing what a fashionista my mom was back in the day! For more vintage goodies, visit Suzanne @ ColoradoLady, our Vintage Thingies Thursday hostess.

  19. Hi Elizabeth, I love your post today. Summer vintage is great fun and I admire all of it. The hat is pretty and the pins adorable. You don't eat strawberries??? I love them. The pin is so sweet. I really enjoyed seeing your pretty mom in her cheesecake photo. I was married in 1963 at 23 years old. I bet we are close in age.

    Happy VTT day to you.
    Hugs, Jeanne
