For Easter last year I wore this enamel brooch, and put the clip-on earrings over bobby pins to wear in my hair. Only 1 small jewel is missing from the entire set. The set was made by BSK, a New York company started in the 1940s and closed in the 1970s. Benny Steinberg, Hy Slovitt and Mr Kashe were the founding members of the company, which manufactured higher end costume jewelry.
The enamel of this brooch is the perfect shade of tree-bud green, even though we won't be seeing whole leaves for quite a while!

You have some very pretty pieces of vintage jewelry. My sister has a lot of this as well, but me, I sold most of mine years ago. Foolish me!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love when I find costume jewelry at sales. Its wonderful and the old stuff was so well made that lots of it looks as good now as when it was worn 50 years ago!

We have been having great weather in California too. But same as you, we will probably get cold and rainy again before summer. You have some great pieces of jewelry, I especially like the flower brooch and earrings.
ReplyDeleteLovely jewelry. You are so right about the weather. Just when the plum trees and magnolia bushes start to bloom, we have either a cold snap or high winds. Never fails.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, these vintage jewelry pieces do remind me of spring...so pretty, I love the leaf the best. Have a great VTT!
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage jewelry, it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose are simply delightful! I love the set, it's so fresh!
ReplyDeleteAbout Ogunquit...everytime I go, we are stuck in traffic for miles and if walking we are engulfed in car fumes. But to each his own. My choice of vacation spot raises more than one eyebrow. I now go to Ols Orchard beach. Very far to the west from the pier. It's clean, cheap and very quiet...
Love these pretties Elizabeth! What a great idea using a bobby pin and the earrings. Those clippy things hurt my ears after a while.
