Illuminating Pink

Happy Pink Saturday! Our hostess, Beverly @ How Sweet the Sound, has encouraged introducing our readers to another participant as part of our post. This week I'd like to introduce you to BJ from Sweet Nothings. BJ is not new to me, but I wanted to be sure and recognize what a great blogger friend she is. BJ can always be counted on to visit folks and leave comments when she participates in a meme. I hope you'll return the gesture to her. When we turned ten, our birthday gift for that year was to have our bedroom redecorated. I got some new furniture, along with wallpaper, carpet, bedding, and lamps. This is the ginger jar style lamp I chose. There were two on either side of my dresser mirror. The shade has aged, but the lamps still work. They are at my sister's lake house in her guest room.
Monday is the first day of Book Blogger Appreciation Week. I have three book giveaways, and I am sponsoring a gift from my shop as one of the BBAW prizes, so stop in during the week for all the cool stuff. You might find some great new blogs or learn about an author of whom you've never heard.

  2. Happy Pink! I think the things we had when we were young can outlast anything we buy new now. It is nice your sister still has the lamps and that they work!

  8. What a nifty pink lamp from your childhood! My mom wasn't much of a 'saver' and as a result, I don't have much of anything from my younger days. Thanks for visiting my first Pink Saturday post and for introducing your friend in this post. I think I've visited her blog before, but methinks this might be my first visit to yours. It's nice to meet you ;--)
    Hugs and blessings,

  9. L♥ve your pink goodies this week. Just when I think I have enough pink in my life I participate in Pink Saturday and see even more sweet things I’d enjoy having in my home or flowers for my gardens or just to look at☺ What could be better than the color pink dancing in your head all morning?

Thanks so much for sharing. Hoping your weekend is filled with sunshine and the comfort of those you love and who love you.

  13. Happy Pink Saturday Elizabeth.
I am so loving that ginger jar lamp. I cannot believe how beautiful it still looks after all this time. The flowers are so pretty. I would give anything to have the ones that were in my room as a kid. They were white milk glass. Lord only knows where they are after all these years. You helped surface a memory for me. Thank you. Please stop by and let me share my pink post with you. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry

  15. Elizabeth, what a lovely pink ginger jar lamp. I love your "be sure to laugh today" in the comment section. A day without laughter is a day lost as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for stopping by my kitchen. I've enjoyed looking through your blog and it's nice to meet you. Happy pink Saturday to you.

  22. Elizabeth! It has been too long since my last visit. I have returned from the sunny south (a month of sunshine!) to gloomy Vermont and there is definitely an autumn chill in the air. And, so I am plunging myself back into my "real" world in blogland. Yes, it is true, I survive happily in cyberland without a glance out the windows at the endless mountains and clouds. Happily!

I'm still visiting around Pink Saturday posts. But, I did read to the latest post. I loved the email from the author, Sallie.

See you again in a couple of days.
