Vintage Wonderland

Reading has always been my "thing" and I was fortunate as a child that people knew this and often gave me books as gifts.I received Alice in Wonderland from our neighbors the McCoys for my sixth birthday.It is now definitely vintage, and it features the original etched illustrations, which are really great. The book has aged really well, probably because it hasn't been opened since I first read it 36 years ago!Even though I am a big reader and I re-read many of the classics as a child, I just never got into Alice in Wonderland and only ready it the one time. I like British humor usually, but this just seemed whacked out to me. Which, if you know anything about Lewis Carroll, it is!

    I never even read that book. It seemed too adult and weird when I was a child. I would probably appreciate it if I read it now.

    Hi Elizabeth.. I like reading too and but I never finish reading this Alice in Wonderland.. I have a copy too but god knows where it is right now.. hehehehe.. Hapy VTT

    Love your book--I'm afraid I wasn't a fan of Alice either, and then reading it in college as an English major and disecting it and hashing out all the social commentary kinda ruined it totally! But if I saw a beautiful vintage copy, I'd probably buy it!

    And I lo-o-o-ove your rick rack page adornment!

    i loved reading lots too as a child and was given lots of books including 'Alice in Wonderland' just like you..i couldn't get into it either but i loved the movie!!..i can't wait to see Tim Burton's version to be released soon starring Johnny Depp :)

    I love Alice In Wonderland and have read the book(s). Lewis Carroll (not his real name) was an odd man with ailments. Nice copy!

    I totally agree-very wacky and not so nice...I never really got into it either. Your book is great however and the illustrations are wonderful!

    Neat book. My mom must have read it to me at some time because I don't know how I'd know it if she hadn't. Yes, it was whacked out but very curious *LOL* My sister's passed down a set of Alice in Wonderland paper dolls complete with props which was pretty neat.
