Red is one of my all-time favorite colors to wear. I have red in my wardrobe for every season. I even have red suede shoes! What's interesting is that I don't use red in my home decorating, I go with more autumn colors. Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to participate in REDNESDAY with Sue at My Secret Garden.
This is my purse that I absolutely adore. It is actually supposed to be a tote bag, but I need to carry so many things with me these days that it is perfect as my everywhere bag.
Inside there are six pockets, so I have individual spots for a water bottle, snacks, rubber gloves & mask, wallet, phone, and tissues. Inside the large section I can carry a book and my portable oxygen tank. The bag is from Anna William, a company based out of Massachusetts. They have shops in 12 states, and have representatives around the country who do in-home parties. You can also buy from their website. The coolest thing abut Anna William is that you choose your own fabrics and closures for your bag or purse, as well as which fabric is used in what area.
I am a huge toile fan, so I wanted the toile as the main fabric. I also was in love with the cute dragonfly print, so the party representative suggested using it for the pockets and it came out looking great! I also got to choose the bag closure, and I went with a magnetic snap. I could have chosen a cute grosgrain ribbon, but what I should have picked was a zipper! At the time I was planning on using it as a tote and wasn't concerned with things falling out or someone else reaching in, but now that it is my purse, a zipper would be better. This bag is 4 years old, has been on hospital and restaurant floors, had pasta with red sauce dumped inside it, and still looks great! I Scotch-Guarded it when I first bought it, and then have only spot cleaned as needed.
At the time it was pricey for me, but I had just been told that my cancer had returned and was in a I'm gonna do what I want mood, so I bought it as a luxury item and it's turned out to be one of the best workhorse items I've ever had!Have you ever bought something that seemed like a splurge and turned out to be something you used all the time?

I'm sure that I have, but I can't think specifically of it right now. I do know that everything that I thought was special enough to be pricey turned out to be a genuine treasure. So go for it!
ReplyDeleteI love the organization of that bag.
Hello Elizabeth! I adore your bag and am going to check out her website after I finish typing!
ReplyDeleteI pray that God kicks that cancer right out of your body, and out of Franklin and never lets it return!
I like your bag, and especially the fact that you can choose your fabric! I don't think I've ever splurged on anything, at least I can't remember doing that. I'm cheap, cheap, cheap!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT BAG, Elizabeth. I'm definitely going to check those out!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a pretty pricey Fossil bag yesterday - a mix of leathers and fabric. It's a summery print, but in fall colors, so it'll carry me thru October for sure.
Love those prints you chose for your tote/purse! Toile prints always look so fresh, especially with the stripes inside peeking out, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderfully useful bags!
ReplyDeleteI don´t own a red bag, but when I want to look my best, I wear bright red - it is the best colour in the world for me, because I am rather pale and look washed-out in many other colours. Red also makes me happy and optimistic so thank you for a post which made me forget that I am tired after a long day :D
What a nice splurge!
ReplyDeleteI too hope you get the all clear soon!!
I like your purse, too! Very nice item to splurge on!
ReplyDeleteCute Bag! I'm off to check them out! I like how it has the organizational pockets inside. ~ Robyn
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth! It's always so nice to hear from you! Oh, I love te fabrics you've chosen. How special to be able to do this! I wouldn't dare open up my purse and show it! :P
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better, Dear One! I like your new ID picture.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love red! Especially red accessories. (I also decorate with red in my kitchen.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bag! I love organizer-type bags with lots of pockets.
Love those purses. All the pockets are great!
ReplyDeleteI have lady who makes them, for the store too. They must be from the same pattern.
Blessings,
Barbara Jean

ReplyDeleteI love everything about this purse.

Elizabeth,I love this purse/tote. I love the fact that you can pick your own fabric, but I think I would have a terrible time trying to pick just one fabric. LOL
ReplyDeleteStill, I think I may just beg my husband to invest in this for me. After all, I need it!
Elizabeth, I love that purse.. so colorful and darn organized. I'm also thinking of you and your same day surgery.... I hope all went well.. We love ya at the Cafe and miss ya!!

What a wonderful bag/purse! The kind that do a good job at keeping one organized are the best. The colors are great. I am sure it is well made since it is such a workhorse for you. Wednesday was my second time to participate in REDnesday. The first time was last week on my craft blog. I forget how I found out about it. On someone else's blog I guess. Have a great weekend!
