I have this great blown-glass orb hanging above the sliding door to my deck. It is swirls of green and blue, and I absolutely love watching the light shine through it.
It was a Christmas gift many years ago from a student, Peter Burke, who is all grown up and in college now! I know his mom picked it out, but it still reminds me of him.

I just think it is the sweetest thought that you remember who gave it to you...I usually took my children to pick out teacher's gifts...although you are correct I did drive to the store and steer them in a certain direction!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!
Isn't that sweet? Having that orb to remind you of a student after all these years is priceless!...Christine
ReplyDeletea perfect holiday gift for a geograpy teacher! ~Kari
ReplyDeleteI love those colors combined to create a movement. There's a watering orb that's being sold to automatically water potted plants. It looks similar, but has a long stick=thingy to bury in the dirt. Thank you for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful. Ya'll have a great day!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I have a few watering globes for plants that resemble that. Maybe they can be next Monday's post. ;)
ReplyDeleteooh I bet it is pretty when it catches the sun! Happy Blue Monday ~ Susan
ReplyDeleteThat looks like one I have. I love blown glass...I'm trying to figure out how to hang them with fishing wire in a way that will only highlight the glass ornaments....like they're just hanging in the air.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I love those orbs! There was once a studio in St. Augustine where they blew those, and I loved to go in there and look through each of the marvelous colors. Love your blue one!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday...
