Sparkling Springtime Jewelry

According to Etsy, vintage is anything 20 years or more old. So that pretty means everything from my lifetime! Vintage Thingies Thursday is hosted by sweet Suzanne at Colorado Lady. She has a bunch of red vintage thingies to show you, as do all of the participants who have linked up, so be sure to check them out!To welcome Spring, I am showing off this great brooch and earring set that were my mom's and are now mine. They are only missing 1 pink stone from one of the earrings and people don't even notice it. I've never converted the clip earrings to pierces because they stay on nicely and don't hurt or annoy me. They were made by BSK, a New York company started in the 1940s and closed in the 1970s. Benny Steinberg, Hy Slovitt and Mr Kashe were the founding members of the company, which manufactured higher end costume jewelry.
I hope this inspired some of you to get out your springtime jewels before Easter! Don't forget to visit the other participants listed at Colorado Lady!

This is a pretty set. I'll bet a local jeweler could repair that for not too much. Why not ask for an estimate?

I don't know why, but I always thought that vintage meant over 50 years old. See, you learn something new every day.

Very pretty Elizabeth. I have lots of my grandmothers earrings and they were all clip ons. Why, I remember trying to convince her to get her ears pierced. LOL.

I know about 'vintage', and antiques have to be 50 yrs or older - does that mean I'm an antique??? Oh goodness!

Really pretty and spring-y. I find the old clip-on's are painful to wear--I didn't know you could have them converted. Good tip.

Love these and they're so "spring-y". I don't wear my clip on's to often because they're a wee bit to tight.

Hello Elizabeth, I do love the beautiful pin and ear rings you shared today. How special that they belonged to your mom. I too love vintage jewelry.

These are so very pretty. Elizabeth, I have a ton of vintage stones I purchased at an estate sale, the owner used to rework vintage jewelry. I will have to see if I have any pink and maybe we can figure out what size, and you can replace the pink stone! I will check and email you....
Lovely set by the way....I love vintage jewels.

You are lucky you can wear yours.

They are lovely. I had kind of abandoned jewelry when I retired but last night I saw a girl on AI with a killer necklace and I thought I am going to go see what I have. Twenty years vintage...I must have antique jewelry then!!

Have a Thankful Thursday
