BLOOM!

Some days lately it has felt like Spring is right around the corner. I don't want to get my hopes up, after experiencing the snow we had Sunday night, but I am preparing for Spring and Easter with my crafts.I was inspired by a garland given away by Tammy Sprinkle @ Arts & Inspirations during the One World One Heart event. Tammy is a fabulous crafter in so many mediums, you should definitely go check her out!Using the word BLOOM as my inspiration, I picked a font I liked (Black Chancery, size 150) and printed it out on solid, light-colored cardstock. I used my shape cutter in different sizes to make three layers, the large base in a solid, the middle in a print, and the top with the letter in a solid.I didn't buy anything new to make these, so I spent some time mixing and matching things from different manufacturers to get things to coordinate. After each piece was completed they were embellished with stickers, quilled art, and ribbons. The most difficult part was hooking them together so that they swagged nicely. I spent an enormous amount of time before I realized that they might look straight hanging on my mantel and be crooked hanging on the doors of the china cabinet. In the future I won't be so picky, but I don't want them to hang like drunken sailors! I think the bloom is off this project and it's done for this year, but I'll be making more garlands for upcoming holidays and seasons!

This came out SO cool! But, it looks too labor intensive for me. I love the way your looped the ribbon on the bottom of the B and the M. What a great idea!

They are really sweet. You could put them on Etsy. I think that is what it is called.

I can't quite tell how they're crafted. Remember, my creativity gene is defunct. I tried to click on the pictures, but they won't let me.

I like that! I have been wanting to try my hand at making a garland or penant and this one looks easy enough for even me (who is craft challenged) to do. Wish me luck!

Elizabeth, Your talent for making cards and garlands is wonderful. Fill up hat card holder and when you need a card it will be there waiting for you. Any one would enjoy receiving cards like your crafty ones.
