Before I get to my blues this week, I need to announce that the winner of my Bloggy Giveaway from last week is Carol from Charli and Me, one of our regular Blue Monday gals! This week I have some blue that I have been looking at for my entire life. This is my mom's Club Aluminum cookware set that she received as a wedding gift in 1963. They still have all their handles and lids, and she uses them daily. If you are unfamiliar with Club cookware, it is wicked heavy, and the bottom of the pots have raised ridges in circles, similar to the coils on an electric stove. Regalware, the owners of Club Aluminum, ceased production in the mid 1980s. People who use Club love it and are always looking for pieces online.Visit Sally and the other participants to see the cool things they are showcasing. I have always heard cooking with club aluminum might be dangerous. Have you ever googled it? My mom collected it, too, and I have a few pieces of hers. I've cooked with it in the past but once I heard it might be dangerous, I stopped using it.. Your mom's blue set sure is pretty to look at!!

Cool pans, the really do have the retro look. I never knew what their official name was, but I know my mil used to have some that were avocado green.

The blue of these reminds me of my childhood... I'm a few years older than your mom's cookware, but I remember that color being very popular back in the day...
I read BJs comment and it seems to be an urban myth. Your mom can keep using it.
I think Mom needs one more timer. How is she supposed to time something on the fourth burner if she has something in the oven?

I don't remember that kind of cookware. Probably because my mom did not have it. The comment about the timers made be go back and enlarge the picture to see the timers better. Never thought about having several timers. LOL! Happy Blue Monday!

Love your blue on this old stove top! I have what is left of a yellow set, which is missing parts and burnt looking. Mine was bought in the early eighties, so, do you think your mom's was better made-or (shudder to think) just better taken care of???

I still use cookware from 1961. They used to make things to last. Great blue post.

Ooo! I love it! My aunt has some, but hers is a avocado green color. She doesn't use it much anymore though.
I remember this cookware also. I love it in blue. If I remember correctly, usually a salesperson would visit the bride to be with a wide variety of Club cookware. It was very "in" to start housekeeping with Club cookware.

It's so funny that you mentioned how heavy they are, because when I first saw them I thought they were those really cheap, light aluminum things you'd take camping. I guess I should have known better if your mom has been using them for 46 years! The stove looks almost as old too, but in beautifully kept condition!

Memories from my childhood came flooding into my mind as soon as I read your post. My mother (married in 1960) had a set of those pots, too. They were very heavy. I can remember trying to lift a filled pot, afraid that I would drop it.
I had to run into the kitchen to check our stove. You would think I would know the brand, since the stove is 19 years old. LOL I also cook on a Hotpoint.
Oh I love the color of the Club Aluminum.
This is beautiful.. the color alone makes me ready for spring.. and bunnies.. and eggs and all things spring. Is it spring yet?

I think my mom had a pot similar to one of those but in orange. I'll have to see if its still at the old house which my brother now owns. He has a lot of old treasures that and I don't think he quite realizes the worth!

I have 2 pcs. of Club Aluminum in Yellow that belonged to my mother. I don't know how old they are but I have had them for 14 years. I am looking for a Club Aluminum Oval shaped roaster. Can't find any store that still has them. Anyone know?
