I have decided to participate in two reading challenges this year that I think I can accomplish. I will be able to overlap books between the challenges, so it won't be as many books as it might seem. I will continue to update the lists on this page as I finish each book. If I have written a review of the book I will link to that, also. The New Authors Challenge is to read books by authors that are new to you, the reader. They can be of any genre of novel and can also include YA books. Participants can set their own goal for number of new authors read, and can join in any time from January1-December 31. I planned to participate back in December, but I wanted to wait until I had at least one book review posted. I am setting my goal at 25 new authors this year.

My second challenge probably won't be much of a challenge for me, but I wanted to put it out there for others to hear about. The Support Your Local Library Reading Challenge is being organized by J Kaye's Book Blog.
This will save many people money, as well as get you reading! Simply challenge yourself to use the library for your reading material: novels, self-help books, audio-books, whatever topics and formats you like for your literature, as long as the material is checked out of your local library. Pick a number: 12, 25, or 50 and make that your goal for books you will get from the library this year. I get 98% of my books from the library, but in the last month I've been receiving pre-publication books from publishers, so that has cut down on my library check-outs. Last year I checked out 78 books from my library and I think I finished about 60 of them. I think I will go with 25 for this challenge, also.

Best of luck with your new goal! I don't think I could read that many! I try but life and bloggin get in the way (lol) Hugs French;) xoxo
what great challenges! i might have to think about joining in too :) thanks for visiting my blog today!
I am always working on the boxes of books I have in my house. I have not visited a library in a long time, because I still have so many at home I have not read. But if I decided to read an author I don't have here, then I will go to the library.
Wanted to stop in and welcome you to the Support Your Library Challenge. If you haven't already, feel free to join us at the Yahoo Groups where others are participating in this challenge as well as others.
Also, the links to post your reviews are up in the right sidebar at J. Kaye’s Book Blog.
