This porcelain dish has been on my mom's dresser for my entire life. It's her little catch-all dish for jewelry, change, safety pins, etc.
On the bottom of the dish is this marking, so I did some research to find out more information. The Ilmenau Porcelain Factory was founded in 1777 and used a variety of markings over the centuries. The one on this dish dates from 1903-1930. On a more pop culture note, I also found out that Ava Gardner had the same dish! If you don't know who Ava was, shame on you!See more PINK goodness by visiting How Sweet the Sound.

Hi Elizabeth, What a pretty dish - very special indeed! How cool that yours could be over 100 years old. Where do you keep it? Happy Pink Saturday! ~ Robyn
love the gentle muted tones...this I can appreciate:) nice to have a family piece!
Hi. I stopped over from SITS this morning and I'm always amazed at how many interesting things you have in your collections!
I love popping in to see what you have to show from the past. I admire you for holding on to it, wish I had been a little more thoughtful of my past things. I am holding on to what I have left and what's sad for me is my girls have no interest in most of the items. I hope they change thier mind soon. :)
Hugs,
Chris
