This first display is all from the early 1960s. It is a table-top bottle-brush tree that has some flocking and ornaments already attached. For a special effect it has a vintage Santa-head cupcake pick sticking out of the side. It used to have several picks, but as kids we played with them and broke them. Isn't the little dog so funny? He is made of felt. The packages are little jewelry boxes wrapped up all cute. The drunken Santa is felt stuffed with some kind of scrunchy sawdust type stuff. His neck is broken, and he can't stand up anymore, which is why we have to lean him against the wall. These were things my mother bought when she was a secretary. They sat on her desk as a fun little display when people came into the office.
This table-top tree is from 1951. My father bought it for his Aunt Gertie, the person from whom I got much of the vintage items I've shared. The base is ceramic and holds a regular 40 watt light bulb. The tree slips on over the bulb. If you enlarge the picture you can see more clearly that there is a star on top and candles on the branches that light up. The other ornaments aren't vintage, they are just miniatures I thought would dress it up, because the light doesn't shine through very brightly any more. I have a teeny-tiny train, each car is about 1.5 inches, that goes around the tree, as well as the wee little nativity scene.

Elizabeth, All your vintage treasures were just adorable. I love your little miniature tree. That santa pick is too cute, I was at an estate sale and purchased several of these old Christmas picks for 1.00. My husband thought I had lost my mind...I love them. (I will show them later in the month)

The 60's tree with the "snow" on it so brings back memories-I worked as a secretary/clerk through high school and college and that is a perfect example of an "office" tree

I had one like that when I was a little girl and on my wall in my bedroom were two ballerinas, flower the skunk, and one other character I can't remember right now...all made out of the same stuff. how funny!
