My dad brought me this tin box a few months ago. It has sat on his work bench in the infamous basement ever since I can remember. I always assumed it held nails or something, and I never really looked at the pictures on it. Instead, it had little bits of WWI paraphernalia, a watch fob, a cigarette lighter and some other small things.
I also noticed it had lovely artwork of the nativity on it. I thought I would use it to store my Christmas jewelry, but it is very funky and greasy inside and I can't get it clean, so I'll just use it as a display item.

I have never seen a tin like that. How beautiful! I know you will find a good place to keep it. xxoo
This is a very pretty box. I love the nativity art work. Very nice addition to Blue Monday.
Happy Blue Monday! What a pretty little tin. Did you try to clean it out with ammonia. I swear that works on everything! Although on second thought I would be careful - it may ruin the painting, and you wouldn't want to do that. ~ Robyn
What a cute Blue Tin! Perfect for Blue Monday!

What a lovely tin! It is so pretty! I have a collection of tins, but nothing like that pretty one you have.
I've never seen a tin like that. How about trying to clean it with some "simple green". It's an biodegradable/non toxic cleaner. I wouldn't know if it would react with the metal of the tin though. It's a thought to try and cut through some of that grease.
It;s a really pretty tin.. Happy Blue Monday and have a lovelt week.
Makes me dream of Christmases long long ago....
The artwork on the tin is magically beautiful! Like a time travel capsule to other worlds!
What a treasure to own, imagine that just sitting in a workshop. It looks like it is in excellent condition too.
Hugs,
Chris
What a unique tin, and it is very special to have! Very pretty illustration and such a special one since it's the nativity! This is something to treasure, and I think it can easily sit on a shelf and be admired for its beauty.
Happy Blue Monday!
XO,
Sheila
I love the artwork on the tin. Reminds me of illustrations from a childhood book.
What a lovely blue Christmas tin. I love the illustration of Joseph wearily but determinedly leaning forward on his staff, leading his wife leading his precious little family! Have a happy day!
I've never seen anything like this. It's quite lovely. I'm glad that you use it, if only for display; however, maybe you'll be able to degrease it. (I have a bottle of Goo Gone that promises to remove grease.) Happy Blue Monday!
Wow what a beautiful tin... I am surprised that it is in such good shape from being down in the workshop... and it has wonderful drawings on it... LOVED your tin this morning... Have a wonderful Monday Elizabeth...

Ohh, that tin is so beautiful! the borders of the pictures add a special touch. The nativity theme is of course what I like best!
This is lovely, Elizabeth! I've never seen anything like it before. Happy Blueness, Dear One!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
That would be a great place to store your holiday jewelry. Would you consider gluing felt to the inside to cover what cannot be cleaned?
It's still beautiful no matter what you do with it, sweet chick! You're fortunate to have it simply to feast your eyes on its beauty....
Smooches,
Connie

The saying "They don't make them like that anymore" comes to mind! That is so pretty.

I have a similar one that cookies came in a very long time ago. Your tin has meaning and that's what counts.

Hi!
That's a very pretty tin. I collect tins! Have you tried Dawn dish soap? It is really good about getting grease off things. Thanks for sharing.
