This cool jack o'lantern lamp has been around all of my life, so it's definitely vintage. I also saw it in a store for $25.00! There is a hole in the back where a small night light can go, but I lost the cord when I moved. I've got to get another one. When I was a kid, this light actually scared me, there is just something about the face that gets to me. But I am learning to be brave and I have it on the mantle this year! The details are pretty nice for what is just a plastic holiday decoration. The stem has ridges and bumps, the face has the lines going down, and the base has dancing skeletons on it.That's it for this week, just one thing! Not like me, I know, but I'm trying to save something for every Thursday in October! Skip on over to Confessions of an Apron Queen and see what everyone else is showing off this week!

Oh, Elizabeth, this is truly amazing! What a great vintage piece - though if I was a kid it would scare me too and I would NOT want it as a nightlight! :)
I want it! I love it! I had one of
these outdoor decorations at Halloween and it was stolen.
I even had it tied down, $25.00 now
I know why!!!!!!!!
What a neat Halloween decoration. I'm sure it gets you in the mood for treating some little goblins. Take care.
I prefer the fall decorations over Halloween too, but this one isn't too scary. Although to a little person, I guess it could have been. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I agree--it might be a bit frightening as a nightlight! But what a great find!
oooh that is so cool!
Good for you - in overcoming your fear! Halloween stuff always unnerves me. Pumpkins are great though - to eat and for decor.
What a neat lamp...so good that it has been kept over the years.
Elizabeth....are you sitting down? I have that SAME lamp. My mom let me have it about a year ago. I remember it from my childhood. I have a large jack-o-lantern too that she gave me as well. I will most likely post it later in the month. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this post!!

That is so cool. I can just picture it with the light shining through. Thanks for sharing.
At first glance he seems innocent enough but I do detect a slightly bit of evil in that grin.
If he starts creeping you out, just put a bag over his head.
Oh, I think I had one of those when I was a kid!!!!!!!! of course I don't still HAVE mine though! LOL
Justine :o )

My grandson has a love/hate relationship with Halloween decorations right now...He wants to be excited but he is still a little worried about them! That one is quite pretty though!
WOW I haven't seen a lamp like that before...very eye-catching and a little eerie too :)
I am more of a "harvest decorator" as well but I love this lamp. Try ebay or walmart for the replacement cord.
What a fabulous vintage item to share for October :0)
Have a great thursday...
My parents pull that same lamp out every Halloween! My dad LOVES Halloween and used to go all out. He's getting back into it again now that their are grandkids.
I'll let him know he's retro cool with his old decorations. ;)
Hi Elizabeth. Glad you enjoyed the tour of New York. I love the name of your blog! So funny. Hope you stop by again.
I haven't decorated for halloween for years, but my brother and I loved playing with the cardboard skeleton we had (the kind with the movable joints).
Wow, I love this! I think I'd have been scared of it too as a kid!
Cute lamp. I'm glad you got over your fear of it.
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for the award below...I have to warn you I am not good at paying it forward...but I really appreciate how much you are enjoying Blog Around the World. Having said that, do you want to be our hostess in Mass. next Tuesday, Oct 7? Click on my profile and shoot me an email!
I don't decorate for Halloween either--but I do appreciate the vintage-ness of your Jack-O-Lantern. Just like vintage Halloween postcards, there's just something charming about the old style and artwork. Most anything vintage-Halloween is hot in the antique and collectable world.
Great piece!
Blessings to you!

That's a really cool Hallween decoration! He's not scarey at all! :)
Yep, I've got the same thing. Buried below in the crawl space. Happy Halloween! ~ Robyn
Those are very cute. I love those lamps. They are worth something. I sold one a while back on ebay for around $30.
A very nice festive vintage piece!
Just found your blog and I love it! I also love this little pumpkin guy :O)
