It's time for the One World, One Heart Giveaway Event, sponsored by Lisa at A Whimsical Bohemian. This is the third year of this event, which seeks to help us find new blogging friends around the world. It's a simple concept, and you can join in with your own giveaway anytime before the closing on February 11, with the winners announced Thursday, February 12.The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. This is more than wanting to win something, in the end it's about finding kindred spirits. Someone who may be fairly new to blogging, not sure how to navigate, find others and have others find them. Some are long time bloggers and in some cases well known in the art community. Whatever the case it brings all of them together. We are not solving the world's problems nor are we curing anything nor are we changing the world. We are merely generating a closer community between humans through blogging.
I am giving away two prizes to two different winners, with a sort of international flair to them. Each prize is a novel and a pair of earrings.
First, Galway Bay
The second book takes place in the city of Amsterdam and is about a fictional rock band that has gone from the pinnacle of fame and potential to the bottom of the heap. Rock Bottom
To win one of these wonderful books with their coordinating earrings, all you have to do is:
- Have an active blog,
- Leave a comment on this post only,
- Leave a way for me to contact you with your comment,
- Choose which of the 2 books you prefer, and tell me why in the comments.
- Winners will be chosen by Random.org after midnight Eastern US time, Wednesday, February 11, and announced on Thursday, February 12.
You can also visit the One World, One Heart site and enter other folks' giveaways!

I would love Galway Bay because you wrote a review that made me go and put it on my Amazon wish list. You know where I hang out if you want me and I will go visit the link. Thank you.

I never win anything, but boy how I'd love to get my hands on your copy of Galway Bay. Well, as long as there are no boogers stuck to the pages or anything :o )
There's just something about the way you described this book... almost as if while reading it you were there with them in Ireland and then followed them on all their trials and tribulations. I HAVE to read this book!
Justine :o )
I'm always looking for a good book, so glad I found your blog. Please add my name to your drawing and when you get a chance, if you're so inclined - stop by mine and throw your name in if interested.
Thanks!
I love books so much that I hate to have to choose. I think I would enjoy either one but Galaway Bay sounds like a good read and I have a friend with that name...coincidentally! Love the earrings, too! Thanks!
Visit my blog for a giveaway, too!

I would love to win Galway Bay. It sounds so interesting. Thanks for participating, it makes it so fun to have so many places to visit. Do stop by and enter mine too.
Oh, please enter me in your drawing! That is just too clever of a drawing! I like both prizes, but have an affinity for celtic knotwork, so I would probably like the Galway Bay book & earrings best ... but the other set is also intriguing! Please visit my blog as well to enter my OWOH drawing!

Hello, Elizabeth! I've been reading you for a while now and enjoying your diverse blogging habits! Very creative lady.
Let's see. I have a love of all things Celtic. My background is Scottish, from the Stuart of Bute. So methinks I would opt for the Galway Bay book and Celtic earrings. And I follow some wonderful Irish bloggers who are rich with stories and life.
However, as a boomer, I have learned NOT to be picky ... that's plain rude! ;-)
Anyway, thank you for hosting such a great giveaway. Any day, any time, any minute ~ come see me on my blog. That's where I'll be in the evenings ('cause I work full-time out of the home).
Take care.
GORGEOUS!!!!! Please enter me in your drawing! I’ll be making my OWOH post later tonight..time got away from me!
cheers,

Hmmmm hard to choose... both books sound very interesting! I'm leaning more towards the Galway Bay just because there's a bit of Irish blood in me! Please enter me into your drawing! Thanks!

Elizabeth I would love to enter for a chance to win GALWAY BAY. I love to read, and I'm interested in the history of Ireland, England, and Scotland. This is something I would enjoy reading for that reason since it's based in Ireland. Speaking of Galway... I once heard James Galway, the world famous flutist, in concert and was awed!
XO,
Sheila :-)
This is a nice giveaway, Elizabeth. I'm not entering, just encouraging.
I would like to enter for Rock Bottom because it just sounds like an interesting read, not to mention that I like diamonds ;) Thanks for the chance to win.

Hello Sweet Lady! I am excited to read Galway Bay after reading your review. My mothers side is Irish, hence the red heads. Anyway, I found your review intriguing and I love the bit about granny sharing stories. Love history that is personalized.
Hugs,
Tammy
I LOVE the title of your blog :D And books--so either one would be fine by me. I've definitely started following you...I don't have enough time these days to read a lot of junk so it's nice to see a blog that does a lot of book reviews.

Books and jewelry - does it get any better?? :) Both books sound fascinating, but I'm more drawn to Galway Bay. There's just something about sweeping family sagas that pulls at my heartstrings.

Fun! Never heard of either book but they both seem interesting. I personally don't have a preference as I read so many different types of books. I like Irish stories and I've been to Galway once (loved it too!) But I also like rock band stories whether they are real or fictional! I'm a rebel that way!

Hi. I'd really like to read "Rock Bottom" because I'm a history student and think this would relate well to the history of pop culture. The earrings are pretty too! Thanks for participating. Beth at pleasemomdontsing.blogspot.com
What a neat idea to give away matching books and earrings! For myself, I have to resist visiting used book stores because whenever I wander near one I come away with a bag full of new reading material.
I'd have to vote for Galway Bay as my favourite here, although they both look great. My family is originally Irish, and I have always loved Irish tales because I feel like they connect me with my roots.
I should have my giveaway up on my blog soon, so be sure to stop by and visit!

As a kindergarten teacher I'm often stuck in the ol' Green Eggs and Ham reading mode- books for grownups would be such a nice change!

Its so hard for me to choose when it comes to books! But Rock Bottom seems like it will be an interesting read.
Thank you!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Cool giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win it.
"Galway Bay" would be my choice -- I love historical books and family sagas. Oh, the drama! :) Besides, the Celtic earrings looks just lovely -- I can already feel them dangling from my earlobes. ;)

Such a fabulous give-a-way!
Such wonderful gifts from the heart to treasure.
Hmmm....I lean toward the Irsh Family Saga, mainly because I've always had a fascination with my Irish family's heritage, but I'd like whichever book was your favorite :)

So happy to have found you through OWOH! Without humor, where would we be? The word verifications for comments have made me snicker - the last one was 'moron'. A cyber-insult!
Please enter me in your lovely drawing, and stop by #644 to enter my giveaway (a book, of all things! ) http://humormemoranda.blogspot.com
Pretty earrings and a book might be just the "escape" I need these days. :-)(#906)
I love to read and wear earrings. What a coincidence. I particulary like reading celtic books and I where a celtic right so this would be perfect. But, I would take either.
I would love to be entered in your giveaway. Thanks for participating in OWOH. It's so much fun seeing all of the blogs.
